Presented in very good condition is this iconic example of a Patek Philippe Calatrava reference 5000J. The watch features a 33mm 18K yellow gold case, smooth 18k yellow gold bezel, black dial with gold Arabic numerals, outer railway minute track, and an off-centred small seconds sub-dial positioned between 4 and 5 o’clock, coupled to a black alligator leather strap with an 18K yellow gold deployment clasp. Having been professionally tested for condition and accuracy, it’s deemed to be running well and is showing minor signs of wear.
Originally launched in 1992, the reference 5000 holds a special place in Patek Philippe’s modern history as a playful, graphic reimagining of the classic dress watch. Its distinctive off-centred small seconds display and radial Arabic hour markers give the dial an avant-garde character while maintaining timeless Calatrava elegance. A sapphire exhibition case back reveals the beautifully finished ultra-thin movement. Powering this masterpiece is the legendary automatic Calibre 240 PS movement, featuring an integrated 22K gold micro-rotor to deliver ultra-slim proportions and reliable precision.
