Presented in very good condition is this exquisite example of a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Duoface reference 270.2.54. The watch features a 26mm x 42mm 18k rose gold swivelling case, smooth 18K rose gold bezel, dual-face dial (silver guilloché dial with blued steel hands and small seconds on the front; black guilloché dial with luminous hands and a 24-hour day/night sub-dial on the reverse), and is coupled to an 18K rose gold brick-link bracelet. Having been professionally tested for condition and accuracy, it’s deemed to be running well and is showing minor signs of wear.
Originally created in 1931 for polo players wanting to protect their watch crystals, the Reverso has become one of horology’s most enduring icons. The Duoface complication ingeniously allows two distinct dials and two time zones to be driven by a single mechanical movement inside the reversible case. The classic silver front dial offers timeless Art Deco elegance with its railway minute track and blued hands, while the reverse black dial provides a striking contrast with local time and day/night indication. Powering this dual-time masterpiece is the manual-wind Calibre 854 movement.
