If I buy a watch online or over the phone, do I have to pay in advance?

It may seem like a silly question, but it’s one we’ve been asked many times. If you are buying a watch from us, whether it be online, over the phone or in person, it must be paid for in full before we can release it or ship it to you. Please see our returns policy just in case you don’t like your new watch.

How do I know the watch i’m buying is genuine?

All our watches go through rigorous tests by our fully trained watchmakers to ensure they are not only genuine, but also running to manufacturer standards and with 100% genuine parts fitted before they are put up for sale. If you have any query regarding a watch you are purchasing, no matter how silly, please do give a member of our team a call on 0207 458 4544 and we’ll be happy to help.

Returns
Can I exchange my watch for a different one?

For peace of mind, we offer a 14 day returns period on any watches purchased online or by telephone, in which you can exchange your watch for something else or receive a full refund. The watch must be returned in exactly the same condition and with the same accessories and paperwork/warranty cards as when you received it. If your watch arrived with a returns tag attached, this must still be attached to the watch and not tampered with. You can return your watch by post or in person at our London offices. Please allow 7 working days for refunds to reach your account.

We appreciate that you will need to try the watch on but we ask that when it is tried on,  please take great care not to mark the watch or its strap. If you return a watch to us and it has been marked, scratched or the stickers have been removed, we may charge you up to 20 percent of the sales figure, subject to returned condition of a watch.

If you purchased in store, we can offer you an exchange or credit note if your return a watch within 14 days.

Selling a Watch
Do I need the original receipt for my watch?

No. We buy watches of all ages and understand that not everyone can hold onto everything. If you have the original receipt and you want to include it with your watch, then that would be fantastic however, it’s not necessary and the price offered won’t be affected.

What ID do you need to see from me when selling my watch?

Whether you’re selling your watch via post or in person, we request that you bring with you or upload a copy of some photographic ID and a proof of address dated within the last 3 months.

We accept the following documents:

  • Driving Licence
  • Passport
  • Bank Statement
  • Water, Gas, Electricity Bill

Mobile phone bills will not be accepted as a proof of address

How do I know i’m getting the best possible price for my watch?

We are fully aware that there are a few other companies in the luxury watch marketplace and it’s in our interest to make sure that you stick with us. By not having expensive Bond Street shops, we are able to pay that bit more for your watch over our competitors. Our prices offered on the most common watches are checked daily to make sure you get as much as possible. If you do receive a higher offer, we’ll usually match it if we can.

Do I need the box and papers?

We always recommend that if you have the box and papers, you’ll receive up to 30% more for your watch as the papers or warranty card act as the provenance for your watch and most of them are irreplaceable once lost. Do your best to find them if you know where they are.

Can I visit Bloombar Watches in person to show you my watch?

Of course! We have a lovely office located in London’s prestigious Marylebone and you’re more than welcome to pop in. As the office does get busy, we operate an ‘appointment only’ policy however, please feel free to pop down, have a drink on us and chat about watches. Before being watch dealers, we’re watch lovers and collectors, so we’re never bored of talking about the latest models and what we would love to buy next.

How do I get paid and how long does it take?

All payments are made by bank transfer. If your account is located in the UK, you can usually expect the funds to arrive within 2 hours. If your account is located outside of the UK, funds can take up to 72 hours to arrive. Proof of payment will always be provided upon request for peace of mind. All payments are subject to usual banking fraud checks and payments can take longer than usual at busy times of the day. We do not make cash payments.

What’s the process?

Once your watch is received, either by post or in person, we quickly inspect it for condition and accuracy in front of you. We then make you a final offer based on our report and then pay you if accepted. Any work that does need to be carried out is calculated on a cost basis.

If I want to send my watch to you, how do I go about it?

With every offer, we send you a watch sale information form for you to fill and enclose with your watch if you do decide to send it in. We always recommend using Royal Mail Special Delivery and if you’re located within the M25, we do also offer a free, same-day collection service for high-value watches. Please do make sure that your watch is safely bubble wrapped to avoid any damage in transit and please upload the tracking number to your Bloombar Watches account as soon as you have it.

How quickly can I expect an offer after submitting my enquiry?

We are on hand 10am-5pm, Monday to Friday. You can usually expect a valuation from us within a couple of hours however, the office can get busy, so if the sale is urgent, best to give us a call on 0207 458 4544.

Warranties
Important information – The small print

Please note that our warranty covers manufacturing and mechanical defects only.

Our warranty is subject to the same terms and conditions as the manufacturer’s warranty. The warranty does not cover theft or loss. Normal wear and tear or damage caused to the watch by accidents or mishandling/mistreatment are also excluded as well as damage caused due to submersion in water against the manufacturer’s guidance. Wear of the watch strap is not covered by the warranty.

In the event of a mechanical fault, please ensure that you notify and gain approval from us in writing before taking your watch to a 3rd party or manufacturer approved repairer, as this will void your warranty with us. In the event you decide to take your watch to a repairer or watchmaker without prior approval from Bloombar Watches, we will not be held liable for any costs you may incur.

Any modification of a watch by addition of substitution of components which have not been provided by the manufacturer will also invalidate the warranty, as will evidence that the watch case has been opened by anyone other than our authorised watchmakers.

It is your responsibility to arrange adequate insurance cover for your watch whilst in transit back to us, and this cost will be at your expense. The warranty is in addition to your statutory and common law rights.

What happens if there is a problem with my watch?

If you have any remaining manufacturer’s warranty, then you can send your watch to them for repair, either directly or via an authorised retailer. Details can be found on the manufacturer’s website.

If your watch is covered by a Bloombar Watches warranty but not the manufacturer’s warranty, then we will undertake the repairs in conjunction with the manufacturer where necessary. Just give us a call on 0207 458 4544 or email info@bloombarwatches.com and we’ll give you instructions on how to get your watch to us.

If your watch is not covered by any warranty then you can send it to us for a repair quote. Any work undertaken by us will be covered by a further 12 month Bloombar Watches Warranty. Just give us a call on 0207 458 4544 or email info@bloombarwatches.com and we’ll give you instructions on how to get your watch to us.

Is my new watch covered by a warranty?

We know the value of security, so every pre-owned watch we sell comes with a 12-month warranty alongside any remaining manufacturer’s warranty. Should the watch stop working through no fault of your own then we shall repair it free of charge for the duration of your warranty. Please note, our warranty does not apply to new watches as they are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
